The lawn has different needs depending on the season: in spring it needs to start growing again, in summer resist the heat, and in autumn strengthen its roots before the cold. Using the same fertilizer all year round is the most common mistake.
Late winter – spring: getting back on track
When the grass starts growing again, it needs nitrogen for colour and density. A slow-release fertilizer such as Slow Green - Bottos 4 kg provides gradual nourishment for weeks; if you want a faster effect, use Speed Green - Bottos 2.5 kg. For easy maintenance, there is Maintenance Fertilizer - Evergreen 2 kg.
Summer: less nitrogen, more resistance
In hot weather, the lawn should be protected, not pushed. Choose formulations rich in potassium such as Hot Summer - Bottos 2.5 kg or Anti-Stress Fertilizer - Evergreen 2 kg, and apply it during the cooler hours, always followed by watering. A biostimulant such as Prestress helps during periods of stress.
Autumn: strong roots for winter
This is the most important fertilising period of the year. Potassium hardens the tissues and prepares the lawn for the cold: Cold Time - Bottos 2.7 kg and Slow K - Bottos 4 kg are designed for this period.
Yellow or pale lawn?
If the grass remains light in colour despite fertilising, it is often lacking iron: a lawn greening product such as Greening Product - Evergreen 2 kg or Green up - Bottos 1 kg will restore the colour in just a few days. How to apply the fertilizer
- Always follow the dosage indicated on the label: too much will burn the grass.
- Apply to dry grass and water immediately after.
- Apply in two crossed directions to avoid greener and yellower stripes.
