Sprayer pump and nozzles: how to use them properly and clean them after each treatment

Which sprayer should you choose?

• Small treatments on potted plants: 0.5–2 L hand sprayers such as the Gea Hand Sprayer - Di Martino 1.5 L or the Crystal Hand Sprayer - Di Martino 1.5/2 L.

Before treatment

• Read the product label: dosage, protective equipment, and conditions for use.
• Wear suitable gloves (see our work gloves), long sleeves and, if required, safety glasses and a mask.
• Prepare only the amount of mixture you will use: do not store diluted leftovers.
• Use a sprayer dedicated to herbicides and a different one for fertilizers and plant treatments.

During treatment

Work in calm conditions, during the cooler hours, and spray evenly without letting the leaves drip. Do not treat if rain is forecast in the following hours.

After treatment: cleaning

1. Empty the sprayer by applying any remaining mixture to an area that has already been treated, not into drains.
2. Rinse the tank with clean water at least three times, also flushing water through the lance.
3. Disassemble and clean the nozzle; dry and store the sprayer open, without pressure.
