Drip irrigation for pots and balconies: watered plants even when you’re away

Irrigazione a goccia su balcone

Drip irrigation delivers water directly to the roots: no waste, dry leaves (fewer diseases) and more even growth. Setting it up on a balcony takes less than an hour.

What you need

How to set it up

  1. Connect the timer to the tap and, if the pressure is high, add the Stabilizzatore di pressione - Claber.
  2. Lay the main pipe along the pots and insert a dripper for each pot (two for large pots).
  3. Do a test: each dripper should moisten the soil around the stem without water coming out of the saucer.

How much and when to water

One or two short watering sessions early in the morning are better than one long session in the evening. In summer, check after a few days that the soil is moist but not waterlogged and adjust the timing.

In autumn and winter

  • Gradually reduce watering: plants need much less in cold weather.
  • Before frosts, disconnect the timer, remove the batteries and empty the pipes: freezing water can break fittings and drippers.

For the garden

For flowerbeds and vegetable patches, the Triply perforated pipe waters evenly along the entire row; for lawns, there are sprinklers in the Irrigation category.
